ABOUT US Our practice began in 1947 when Dr. Paul Collopy (Dr. Michael Collopy's father) started an orthopedic practice in downtown Milwaukee. At that time, there were only about 10 or 12 orthopedic surgeons in the state of Wisconsin, with approximately six of those practicing in Milwaukee. Since those early days, our practice has grown to include six orthopedic surgeons who cover nearly all orthopedic sub-specialties. Dr. Michael Collopy is still active in office practice and teaching. Dr. Robert DiUlio has been with the group for 27 years and is now the Senior orthopedic surgeon. He still has an active general orthopedic practice that includes surgery, office practice, and teaching. Dr. Daniel Ladwig, who has been with the group since 1992, is the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Luke's Medical Center. He has an extremely busy trauma and adult orthopedic practice. Dr.Chris Evanich joined the practice in 1995 after completing a Joint Replacement Fellowship in Utah, under the direction of Dr. Aaron Hoffman. Dr. Evanich specializes in joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder, as well as general orthopedics, arthroscopy, and trauma. Dr. Brian McCarty joined the group in 2001, after completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship. He has a very active sports medicine practice, and is the team doctor for several local schools. He performs arthroscopic surgery on the knee, shoulder, ankle, and elbow. Dr. McCarty opened the first cartilage transplant center in Milwaukee. The beginning of 2005 brought us another welcome addition to our sports medicine team. Dr. Bindu Bamrah performs arthroscopic repairs of the shoulder, hip, knee, foot, and ankle. He has a proven track record in joint restoration, cartilage transplant, and other minimally invasive procedures. The Association of Orthopedic Surgeons continues to provide all aspects of orthopedic care and remains on the cutting edge of technology and innovation. |
